PORT CHARACTERISTICS
PILOTAGE- Pilotage is compulsory for vessels entering or leaving the port.
TOWAGE- Towage is not necessary for the vessels up to 2000 GRT. These services are provided by the Port Authority round the clock
SEA CRAFTS- 2 service boats, 2 tug boats and 3 mooring boats are available.
HANDLING EQUIPMENT- There are 7 shore cranes of 3 to 35 tons, 6 mobile cranes of 5 to 25 tons capacity, 30 short mast forklifts (Diesel+electric), 1 tracked crane and 3 loaders are also available. The containers are handled with 1 general purpose shore crane of 35 tons lifting capacity and 4 reach stackers of 25 to 42 tons capacity, and 6 empty container forklifts of 8 to 10 tons capacity.
There is a ferry bridge system where the Train Ferries for the trains with wide and standard gauges can berth.
BULK CARGO FACILITY- One concrete grain silo belonging to TMO (Turkish Grain Board) and having a total 95.000 tons capacity is available, and there is a conveyor system connection with the quay.
